About Me

I'm Ashley and grew up in a variety of places in Utah; South Jordan, North Logan, Provo, Orem etc.

I have an older sister, Amber, and an older brother, Andrew. Amber is finishing up her Senior year at BYU-Idaho in Rexburg and Andrew will be finishing up his mission to Nampa, Idaho in November 2-16.  They are my best friends! (And I love both my Mom and Dad a lot.)

My parents were divorced when I was three so that's why we moved. We learned to work hard, work together, draw closer as a family and rely on the Lord for everything. I'm grateful for those invaluable lessons.

Last year my Mom remarried so we moved to a rural town in southern Utah County called Elberta. My new Dad, Mike, has lived there for 20 years and has 5 children of his own. They are all grown with families of their own and living mostly out of Utah in California, Nevada, Florida and Pennsylvania. I'm grateful to get to know and love them and am thankful for their great examples.

The reason I am serving a mission is because I love the Lord and I want to share about Him with others'. I love His gospel and all that He has taught me in my lifetime. There is nothing that matters more to me than His gospel and His teachings about the eternal nature of the family and that we can all be together again in the next life if we make the decisions here to be able to do that.

I know that families can be together forever and that God loves us and has a plan for each of our lives.

After graduating from High School early - I went to our local university (UVU) and then to massage therapy school. I love the human body and the miracles of healing that are provided when we care for it. I graduated from UCMT (Utah College of Massage Therapy) and worked as a massage therapist in Orem, Utah for several months before serving as a missionary.

While at UVU and UCMT I attended and graduated from the LDS Institute of Religion taking many classes from incredible teachers which helped to prepare me for my own life and to be able to share the gospel more effectively with those I will grow to love and serve in Ohio.  I am honored and humbled for this 'call' from the Lord to serve my brothers and sisters in that area.

My 3rd great-grandfather, Andrew Lee Allen, was one of the early residents of Kirtland, Ohio (which is in my mission area) and sacrificed much to be able to gather with the Saints and with the Prophet Joseph Smith, in the early days of the church, and as directed by the Lord.

I am humbled to be called to serve at this day and time when there is so much good to be found in the fullness of the gospel and as the Lord prepares the earth for His return; the Second Coming of the Lord to the earth in preparation for His glorious millenial reign. I love Him and want to be a good representative of His name in the world.

My Mom has been a blogger for many years. Here's her main one with links on it about my family, my youth, my upbringing and more of our beliefs.--   Mormon Moms
